Roth conversions can be a powerful tax planning tool.  Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) have complex rules and significant penalties for failing to follow those rules.  

Converting your Traditional IRA to a Roth IRA when also taking your RMDs can be confusing and cause potential issues if done wrong.
